I generally avoid all trailers unless they show them in the theatre.

I'll admit I'm a little edgy regarding the plotline on this one.

P.S.  to all the anti-RE movie clowns out there:  step off my woman's work.

well now that i've seen it:

(Here There Be Spoilers - Big Ones!)

couple things first. Milla is beautiful. she is very good looking in this film, it's just mind boggling.

this movie picks up 5 years after the second one. we find that the T-virus has moved past Raccoon City and has mutated. it's now leaked out across the world and is killing all life, including oceans and rivers.

we then cut to "let's clone Alice and kill her 87 different ways" which seems odd at first, but then the plot starts kicking in.

a convoy of humans still exists. we meet up with Carlos and L.J. from the last film, but no mention is made of Jill Valentine for the whole film.
after a fight against zombie crows (you read that right), where Alice takes her telekinetic powers up a notch to save them, they decide to team up and head to Alaska as it's an isolated area that has reports of no infection.

good idea except that the Umbrella Corporation finds Alice via satellite and uses an army of "super-zombies" (you read that right too) to kill the humans to get to Alice. turns out Alice's blood is the key and it could be the cure to the T-virus.

after the "super-zombies" are out of the way, we move back to the Umbrella Corporation lab where an infected doctor turns into a Tyrant. Alice and her Gurkha knives and the last of the convoy head after them to secure the helicopter to fly to Alaska. the convoy flies off to Alaska, while Alice stays behind to finish things once and for all.

she heads down to the lab, and all personnel have been killed by Tyrant. she finds her clones and frees one. then Tyrant bursts in and the final fight is on. some nifty knife moves and telekinetic prowess later, it's Tyrant and Alice trapped in the Laser Hallway Room from the first movie. Tyrant's healing factor is no match for a laser mesh and dies. the clone saves Alice from the beam and they set out to wake up the rest of the clones and to bring down the Umbrella Corporation all across the world. sadly the movie closes without even a hint of the Alaskan voyagers or Alice(s) touching down in Tokyo to bring the fight to a close.

overall - 8.45 +'s out of 10.

I enjoyed the movie, it went a lot smoother than what I was fearing.   But, the next sequel will be possibly even more hard to do....1,000s of Alices.....wait, that sounds hot.   But seriously, not sure how they'll pull another one off.

Actually Sony has made an official announcement when Resident Evil 3 was announced. The series is only going to be a trilogy.

However, when RE3 was released, Sony hinted towards a 4th Resident Evil movie. "We'll see what everyone thinks, it is possible to make a fourth. I'm sure they can come up with some way to make a story up." Those are not the exact words of the quote, I had lost the article I read that from.

I did see the movie a few nights ago. I have to say out of the 3, RE3 is indeed the best. As for the entire series. Compared to the video game, the movies are complete CRAP! Yes it was based on the games, but really the only things we saw from the game itself were the Zombies and super mutated monsters like the licker, nemesis ect... and the T-virus. They basicly tore what could of been a good movie apart that was based on a Horror/suspense video game. The movies were not even scary. I'd classify them as Action movies, I wouldn't even put them in the monster category. There was no real horror, you get an occasional tiny jump in your seat when something jumps in front of the screen or grabs someone out of nowhere. But thats it.

To rate them on a scale of 1-10

Resident Evil 1 - 5-10
Resident Evil 2 - 3-10
Resident Evil 3 - 8-10

The Resident Evil Movies compared to the video game for story, likeliness and keeping the original roots of the series. 1.5-10 (CRAP!)

To compare games gone to the movies. So far the really only GREAT game that stayed true to the roots and story is, Silent Hill. Best movie based off of a video game. Sony could learn from Twisted pictures.
