Apparently, the rumor is that Steve Pederson commissioned for a new tunnel walk song for the upcoming FB season.
The "USC is Going Down" on this guys myspace page is the rumored winner.

On a side note: this guy represents Nebraska well

You're 20.  We'll see what all the blue hairs have to say about it.

I'm 21.

The blue hairs can take their tickets and shove them up their asses. No offense to anyone on this board, but old people shouldn't be going to Nebraska football games. Over the years, the stadium has really quieted down, mainly because 84 year old farmers complain about people standing up or even yelling. God forbid, it's a football game and people are yelling or getting on the feet trying to make the stadium loud. This is one thing that really pisses me off. Yes, I have been asked to sit down. No, I will not listen to those old people.

/end of rant.

You being 21, it would be difficult for you to comment, actually.

I've gone to an average of 4 home games a year for the last 17 years, my experience has been that the reason it is quieter is precisely because there are many FEWER of those 75 year old farmers around who know when to yell and how important it is to do so.  They also knew what it was like to be a rabid fan in spite of the reality that there can be 25-year periods between having a nat'l champ caliber product on the field.  I'm not saying you don't have some fogeys by you who want you to sit down.  Standing was more rare, even when the stadium was louder.  The young people around where I sit are much quieter than the fogeys they replaced over the years.

The avg age of season tix holders has gone down, not up, during the time period where the stadium has gotten quieter.

Haha. I'm not sure about that. People keep aging and refusing to give up their tickets. I see old people walk in dressed like they are going to a picnic. All they need is a little umbrella to block the sun. I want to see your sources regarding this issue. =P  All my claims are from experience...you are trying to say factual claims. I would just like to see how you know the average age is going down.

Airman, if your contention is that the average season ticket holder is getting older and mellower than we are both on equivalent footing with regard to the facts.  The difference is that I have been going to more games for a longer period of time.  We both agree that the stadium is quieter.  The question is why.  You think its more old people.  I see WAY fewer old people than I used to--there's probably 85% turnover in my area from one generation to their kids, with me being one of those in that situation (my parents used to be the ones who went to every game, now its my brother and I that split them).  My gut tells me that you haven't been going to games long enough, especially in the same area (we've had the same seats for 20 years), to be able to judge the trend for yourself.  So you go to some games, see some older people some of whom are downer jerks, assume that the trend us to an older season ticket holder, and rant to that effect on the boards.  I'm here to tell you that while there are alot of older folks, there are way less now than there used to be from my experience, and the older folks were WAY louder than the young ones who replaced them.

My impression was that the crowd was louder than they were at the opener last year.  By alot.  Let's hope it keeps up, eh?

The new tunnel walk video sucked. The music was good though. It sucks that Memorial Stadium has to have such a crappy sound system...why can't they pony up some money towards some decent quality sound?

Because they have to spend the money from real-paying students to buyoff the athletes.
