Lot of reviews out there now. The most common knock is for repetitive missions. You basically do the same lead-up info gathering and assassination on 9 guys. But that has been known for ages. It nails the animations, controls, combat, environment. Ai is good for the most part. Some really like the story and sci-fi aspect but others don't. The ending is a big cliffhanger. Really just drops the ball (for a sequel of corse).
Not sure if I want to buy a console + games this holiday or skip those games and get AC on the PC this spring.

Glad there are not too many perfect scores being put out. Not very helpful if they don't bring up criticism.

The lowest score was from planetxbox360. Odd review really, he liked and disliked the opposite things that the rest of the reviews did. And he rated aspects of the game lower than what his comments would lead you to believe.

Gabe @ penny arcade (11/14/07) had some comments about AC and such an open game in reviewers hands. Basically he said the open world is a nightmare for reviewers on a deadline. Says AC is a blast and didn't know why some reviews were rating it 6 or 7/10. Once he put a deadline on his review it made it a huge task to get everything done and like a job and repetative. That would explain the ratings he says, not the game.

My brother and I went in together on a 40gb PS3 and picked up AC as well. Lot of fun. Mario is on hold for now.
* Asus goes and plays more AC

Blah! Was hoping you'd wind up with an xbox 360...  =/  Oh well, have fun. I will not be getting AC, not sure if it's my type of game. Plus, I'm having a helluva time on COD4 at the moment.  cool

Was thinking xbox360 at first and they have the new units (falcon) which supposedly don't error out like the originals. But most of the games on there that we would play are PC games too. No need to buy it on Xbox360 and get Live when we play on PCs with those same games and use a mouse for better first-person-shooter play + free online. Mass Effect was really the only game that I wanted on Xbox360 besides the games that are on every other platform. And maybe Dead Rising.

PS3 will have a few other exclusives that I want (heavenly sword, uncharted,MSG,FF etc). And pretty much all the other games get released on both. PS3 is quiet. No real problems with the units. And I can do Folding@home on it! :p
Could care less about blu-ray. Just an extra. Although I did get spiderman 3 movie and will be getting 5 others with a rebate...

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Do you know anyone else with ps3s you can play with? Seveeeeral people on LS have XBox 360s =]   btw... although first person shooters are better on the computer, console fps' grow on you as well. I'm pretty much used to console shooters now, and really don't know the difference... I guess sniping can be a little difficult at times.... all just takes practice.

But I don't play online games on consoles generally. I play those games I can't get on the PC which are mostly without online multi-player. I'd only play online with a console if I didn't have a PC and bought an Xbox360 for those 'pc-ish' games.

I was able to borrow a friend's 360 for a weekend so I got to play some of AC. I got through the second mission.. I have spent a lot of time just messing around killing random guards and searching for flags in the countryside. I was enjoying it a lot.. I can see where people say its repetitive.. but I don't find it to be so myself.  Pretty much agree w/ what they said on penny Arcade.. if you try to rush through it you probably will find it to be repetitive. Anyways.. hopefully I Get my 360 back soon so I can play this some more, great game Smiley.
