The Watchmen (Alan Moore, David Gibbons) is one of the greatest stories I have ever read, seen, heard, or in any other way been made to understand.

So, I was at the midnight show of Dark Knight, and what do I see but a Watchmen trailer.  The first one to come out.  I wasn't aware that it had even been released yet.  David Hayter, the english voice of Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series (as well as Capt. America from the cartoon and... well, just IMDB him) wrote the first two X-Men movies and is the main writer for the Watchmen.  In a podcast I heard him say "this movie is perfect."  From the trailer, I agree.

Edit:  The first paragraph should let slip that I saw The Dark Knight at midnight.  I am incapable of writing anything resembling a review of this movie (I'll leave that for others Wink).  My jaw is dropped.  My mind is blown.  If you even remotely like Batman, go see it.  In fact, even if you don't, go see it.  Just go see it.  Go.  See it.  Go see it.  Go.  Shoo.  Stop reading.  Go see it.  Go.  Go.  Go.  Go.  Go.  Go.

ah the Watchmen. so good, and so well done. it was in developmental hell for 20 years.
but here we are. and we are in awe. I agree with Taku, when I first read this about 12 years ago, it was mind blowing.
and it's still mind blowing. but even more so with this movie. so again, here we are in awe, and in waiting.

I too have seen The Dark Knight. twice. but that's for the other thread.
