This is pretty much the EXACT reason I've decided that, for the time being, Windows is my way to get my TF2 fix.

The time I spent this week trying to tweak it into running TF2 on my Macbook Pro... *shakes head* I'll try again when I get my next desktop system.

If you don't utilize hardware in valuable enough fashion that you can get yourself energized by open-ended possibilities, then, I agree, you owe it to yourself to stick with something pre-chewed, like Windows. 

When yer business depends on it and you start paying Micro$oft license fees, you'll start being confronted with how bad M$ sucks.  I'd go with a Linux desktop at work in a heartbeat.  For (not valuable) home use, my need to game outweighs my need to shove my big toe up Bill Gates' ass, so, yeah, I still use windows. 

Of course, from what I've seen, MacOS might provide the best of both worlds...
