to be fair, here is the news story.

but to put it simply - no FUCKING way. it's a one word argument for me - DISNEY. Disney buys Marvel comics for over 4 BILLION DOLLARS.
you just don't use that kind of cash, and say "eh, it can run by itself. I'm going to go back to pillaging 3rd world countries for my work force."
no. no no no no no. Jack isn't rolling around in his grave, he's planning the zombie apocalypse.
and then when the world ends, I can go back to my original idea, and just have more proof that it was all Disney's fault.
I've hated Disney for years. I never even saw "Bambi" or "Dumbo" or any of that stuff. it's just AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I have a friend at work, and her son used to work at Disney World. the stories he's told me.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
and now, 60+ years of comic history is theirs. to understand how I feel, watch 3:08 to 3:30 of this.
that's just the start of how I feel. and I don't hate Marvel either. some Marvel insight.
I read a lot. anything and everything; DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Vertigo, Max, trade paperbacks, anything.
but this just sickens me. here's a tongue in cheek version of what might be coming soon - but I can actually see some of these happening.

it's too much. I could rant and rave on this for days. but you know what? forget that. not worth it. watch this instead.

You could think of it in the same sense that DC has a partnership with Warner Bros. - DC can pull from WB resources same as Marvel can now pull from Disney resources and such. We'll see in a year what becomes of this buy-out but if Disney wants to profit from their newly acquired partner, they won't jack with it too much.

I think you meant to link this instead for your last link...

I didn't even know Disney was looking to buy Marvel.  They threw some major cash at them though!  There was no way they could ignore a figure that high.  I think it'll be a good decision for Marvel.  Disney has some great talent working for them.  And I thought they were doing good because they had Pixar.  Guess we won't be running out of super hero movies anytime soon.

What's the point of wearing your favorite rocketship underpants if no one ever asks to see them?

Hopefully they leave things the way they are going and just offer extra marketing support and money to projects.
