this angers me to no end, so I'll try to show some logic with numbers.
cause I'm a numbers kind of guy, go figure.
1) Boondock Saints 2. release date - Halloween. and by release date I mean if you life on the East Coast. but no support, no ad campaigns, = no story time for Mr. Afterthought. you wait 7 years for something and get nothing. instead -
2) New Moon commercials are everywhere. the trailer inspires idiots to camp out for tickets. and it beats out the 1st day of The Dark Knight.
this has become a problem.yes, that Dark Knight. what I consider to be the best movie of all time. even better than The Usual Suspects or The Godfather. it takes a lot for me to even type that. and now this whiny piece of garbage is breaking box office records?? W.T.F??!?
3) this film is getting HORRID reviews. as in, if you are old enough to pay taxes, this isn't the film for you. so who the hell is going to this? how many teenage girls in this country find bad MTV plots/acting to be moving, let alone good?
4) these are based on books. my generation (and I'm under 30) - books/TV were all we had before the internet. today's generation - not reading so much. now you have this audience clamoring "the books are awesome so the movie will be even better!" not hardly. and I'm guessing they went with the audio version instead. so again, where is this all coming from? the desperate need to see shirtless teenagers outside of your Abercrombie and Fitch store isn't enough?
5) in closing. where is this all going? are there going to be followers for this like there are Trekkies? or will this whole fad die off in 5 years? cause I really don't know how much more I can take.
thank you Cracked.
