I haven't played it yet but I am hearing so many good things from my Super Group in Champions Online.  A lot of them have purchased the game and are praising it. I was wondering if any of you have looked into it or have purchased it. I want to get some more opinions because my trigger finger is very itchy and about to press that Buy button on steam.

I'm weak....I purchased it. I'll let you guys know lol...it does look REALLY good.

"And the prophecy once told, a game will rain down from the heavens and reunite the Lost Soldiers Clan under one banner. For they will become engrossed and all play the same game!"

lol sorry I've had a few beers YAY!

A part of me is a bit skeptic about all of us playing a MMORPG, since the essence of those games is grind away for the next 2 years just to have a chance to survive.

This is not your typical MMO.

In fact I could see the competitive side and the not so competitive side of the entire LS clan getting into this game.

Its a 3rd person shooter that takes you into the depths of an MMO but not the hostile side, time wrenching MMO style that has griped the world.

It is focused mainly around PvP but has its fair share of PvE.

After a very long tutorial mission you arrive at the actual MMO world. It is a bit confusing at parts but what takes me for the game is its play style.
You queue up for PvE missions and PvP. So the game is entirely team based. You are allowed to look at your team for a set period of time when you enter a PvE and PvP mission to decide if you want to stay or leave. This is basing it off of wither you like the combination of classes or not. You can queue up to at least 6 players, Pug or Agency (Guild). If you are partied with 2 Agency players you will pug with 4 others.

The PvE is horrible IMO. Simple, but hard at some points. It requires you to work as a team and actually rely on your team but its a mission based system that is completely random. Meaning when you queue up you could get the same damn mission over again. Keep in mind this game just came out and is subject to content updates and enhancements.

PvP is interesting. Its team fortress styled. The two modes I have been lucky enough to play are basicly "Offense/defense" (Unreal tournament) and "Cap the robot" Basicly escort the player who is in the robot suit to the cap point that the opposing team is defending but is trying to cap their own robot.

With its early faults and its promising future. I say the game is worth a try. The classes play out really well and from my current PvP experience are very balanced.
The game focuses on team based strategy...the pvp section all available through a queue based system and team based system. So we could all queue up and face another clan directly. Holding certain areas of the game include unlocking special abilities. Its very very interesting.

Shooting style/ team based system: 8.3 mongeese bites

Actual gaming experience: 7.9 mongeese bites

Personal Intake: Worth a look, if anything you have a game you can fall back on when you are feeling bored.

Been playing a fair bit with a robotics at lvl 28 right now.
I enjoy the game quite a bit, and it is definitely better focused toward the pvp aspect. That's not to say you won't enjoy the PvE, but I expect it will definitely get boring as time goes on - though they have promised to add and rotate maps which will help.

I just joined an Agency (clan) with an alliance today. The Alliance vs Alliance battles look to be a good extension from the random PvP.
I'll have to play more to decide if it's worth the $13/month to continue after the first month.

My name is the same in game, for those that join the battle. Though the rotating shifts throw my playtime off at least a couple weeks every month or so.

Sweet, Dens. Fire me a whisper sometime. Game name is Zacaris. Currently in a small agency with the Champions crew I roll with. We're called TYD "To Your Dome" Got a level 12 Assault. Going to go tank with him.

To touch more on the pvp side of things I have played more game modes now. They include.

Cap the Robot
Take and hold
Push (Your team has to stand in the radius around this object, the more people in the radius the faster it moves, gotta get it from point A to B then C. The enemy team can push it back but never behind a point.)
Offense/Defense (Attackers and Defenders, you are assigned on the attacking or defending side when you enter the match, you never switch sides. Once the defenders defend all the points or the attackers capture them all its game over and experience and credits are earned.)
There is also this game mode where a capture point will spawn somewhere on the map and you need to get to it quick and cap it. When you do your team gets a point, first to 3 wins.

There is really no gear at all in this game. All the armor you buy is specificly for looks. You buy dyes as well and can customize the look of your armor. However there is a crafting system and you can get blue prints to make modifications for your armor. This gives you little boosts here and there. Crafting is really slow and the only way to get materials is to play the PvE missions. In PvE you will always get experience but there is a death penalty. If your team mates or you die a total of 4 times combined you lose your mission bonus and do you get paid and you get less XP. PvP is the way to go to level quickly. You will always get credits and XP just if you win you get more.

The game sounds interesting but blast it all why don't they do demos on these games anymore?!?!   Throwing $50 at a game without having played it is a bit rough these days.
