This movie is not even out yet so I will not say much. I managed to see it. I got real lucky, my friend had an emergency and he had pre-screening tickets which he then passed on to me because he couldn't go.

All I am really going to say is you should go see this in theaters because its worth $10 to see on the big screen. But be prepared to be a bit disappointed. Everyone was expecting a ton of action because Tony has announced that he is indeed Iron-Man so you would think you would get to see more of those cool CGI scenes of Iron-man taking a beating of a life time and spit the bullets back out. Nah you don't in fact there is hardly any of that. IM2 focuses on a lot of further character development and story development. Tony has a crisis, the element powering his generator that is keeping him alive is also killing him by intoxicating his blood. So the story builds around that....a lot.....way more then it should. It focuses on whiplash (mickey) a lot as well.....way more then it should. It builds up and builds up and builds up! All of a sudden the lack of action doesn't seem so bad because you're thinking the finale will be HUGE (like Star Wars Ep 2 in the end) maybe like 45 min worth of nonstop action! Nah. In fact the finale is maybe at best 15 min long and the final battle with whiplash is Very VERY disappointing and way to short. They pulled a Venom with War Machine. He was only in the final battle. I wanted to cry. But the movie is still worth seeing, the humor is there and it further antagonizes that there will be a IM3 in about 2-3 years and it touches more on the up coming Avengers team/movie.

IM2 was like the Empire Strikes Back of the Star Wars Saga. Little action lots of development and at times, boring. Everything I said here could be figured out from the trailer.

IM2 - 8.5 Mongeese Bites: Plenty of room for improvement.

Vanish, you will hate this. They changed the history of Iron-Man in this one. Basically took the comic and tossed it in the trash can.

Warmachine wasn't only in the final scene (sort of) and don't forget to stay after the ending credits

Anyone else notice when Tony was walking through the jail to have a lil' chat with Vanko, was that a Thor (Chris Hemsworth) cameo? =)

Just watched Iron Man (the original) last night.  Pretty good flick.  Probably worth seeing IM2 now.

not to spoil TOO much.

this movie is not what the critics would tell you.
the critics got jaded from the first film, and thought "if the sequel isn't perfect, it's going to fail."
but even though it's not perfect, it doesn't fail, it wins instead.
the highlights:
1- the opening court scene - very funny and gives insight to the movie.
2- the introduction of Natasha aka the Black Widow. cause I want one too.
3- vengeance for the Russians is still - (dare I say it) - cold blooded! even for a bird man.
4- the usage of the "Demon in a Bottle" storyline from the comics. 20 years later, still probably my favorite arc of the comic.
5- more Nick Fury usage, the hints towards the next Marvel film, Tony dealing with his father issues.
6- showing just how easy it is to build a particle accelerator, provided you have a certain "disc".
7- the villain fights got quadrupled for the film, not just in duration but in number.
8- Mickey Rourke doesn't miss a beat as the villain. the accent sticks, just stop Hammer from dancing please.
9- visually this film is made of win, the script is almost air tight, the dialogue and acting are top notch.
10- take into account the bit after the credits - you know what I'm talking about.

so this movie is not just your usual popcorn summer movie action flick good time thing.
it's a really good sequel. really really good.
granted they de-aged Justin Hammer a little, and combined Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo into the big enemy, but it worked.
dub it - 9.67 smashies.
