oh Nebraska, you Big 12 killer.
I can't imagine Kansas or Missouri will ever forget this one.
but since I don't care about them, meh.
so even though our new conference has more than 10 teams in it, a few things to note/ask.

1) we're not officially joining until next year, but when we do, what will the conference be called then?
2) will they have a "Big 10" championship game, and where will it be played?
3) will we still get to beat the crap of Colorado on Thanksgiving weekend? can we put the new "Pac 10" team on our schedule every year?
4) will the 4 big Texas and Oklahoma schools join up in the new "Pac 10"?
5) what happens to itty bitty Iowa State, Baylor, or "bigger" Kansas, Kansas State, and Missouri?
6) will Notre Dame join our new conference in a cash grab as well?
7) will this help recruiting, or be a shot in the foot?
lastly - what's the reaction like back home? are people furious, or are they ok with it?

a funny primer - with pictures.

I've heard rumours that Texas and T A&M were secretly talking to the Big Ten for admission.  To me, that would be hilarious to see...since all the NU fans are like "good riddance, Texas!!", only to have them follow you.  LOL.

It's definitely an exciting change and it'll be interesting to see the fallout next week.
1.  They'll probably still call it the Big 10.  They didn't change it for Penn State and it'd just be silly be in the Big12 again.
2.  They'll have a championship game now that they have the required numbers.  The location will probably rotate some but I can see it be held mostly in Indiana or Michigan.
3.  Screw Colorado, let's play Iowa that day.
4.  I don't think Texas will get in to the Big 10. That would be a stretch from all the northern schools they currently have.  Though it'd be crazy for the PAC 10 to pick up all of the Big12 south teams.  I think a few will go SEC
5.  All the rejected northern conference schools (IState) will go Mountain West conference or whoever they can whore themselves out to.
6.  Notre Dame has been awefully quiet.  I think they'll stay out for now but they may be feeling a lot of pressure.
7.  I think recruiting strategies will be changing but I really don't pay too much attention to the recruiting news so I'm not sure what the new conference will mean to where we can recruit.

My opinion is 'woot'.
Glad I was back in Lincoln that weekend... I think that's the first time I've ever seen a Regents meeting live on TV.

Anti-woot.  Why would ne1 be excited to join the Flaccid Ten?  To join a self-important also-ran conference with a huge sense of entitlement disproportionate to the quality of football they play is not my idea of something to celebrate.  It sounds like alot of people feel "safe" in the Flaccid Ten.  I hope those people find what they're looking for.
