Resident Evil: Afterlife is not the end we all thought it might be. this is now the 4th entry, with enough plot points for at least 1 more movie.
early on in the film, we get rid of all the cool toys: the clones, the superpowers, and the cool soundtrack that used to be a part of these films.
and even though it would appear as if humanity has no hope left, there's still people trapped somewhere, striving to stay alive.
too bad for them the zombies are coming, and they've stolen the feeding techniques from the Blade 2 vampires, and acquired the digging skills of moles.

as usual, the perverts die first though, so you know you're watching a zombie movie. granted the 3D isn't necessary, but it gives it a little more panache.
at last we meet Chris Redfield, who is played by the guy from Prison Break, who leads our humans/worm food on an escape. from a prison.
the Executioner kind of shows up from nowhere, but he gets his ass kicked big time by our ladies.
but enough of the family hugging time, bring on the fighting!

the Redfields kick ass but the T virus is a tricky thing you see.
Wesker wants to show off who's top dog (literally) and then we get to queue the fight music to end all fight music.
A Perfect Circle's "The Outsider" techno version done by Renholder for the 2nd flick. bring the music up cause the fightin's and a-fuedin is on!

some final thoughts:
1) note the parachute Wesker used. he's hard to kill it would seem.
2) does Alice get infected again? the knife she stabs Wesker with gets stuck in her arm too, so it would seem she'll be back to her old self.
3) the end is definitely not a "get to the choppa" moment.
4) there's a small scene after the credits with none other than Jill Valentine so stick around.
5) this is a short flick. granted most of humanity is gone, but you get left wanting more.

overall - 9.188 smashies.

Finally had a chance to see this tonight, the storyline felt a bit weak but they've long since butchered that.

I didn't notice a parachute so +1 to you good sir, point #2 is a pretty good one, hummmmm I dunno.

Lots of eyecandy in this one, including the ginger wet T-shirt fight.

While there isn't distinct finality to this one, it did seem to put a bit more than the others; but on the whole I enjoyed this one.
