Kickin' it Old Skool

I was playing CS:S on the FreE Frag Network server last night with a cool bunch of guys when in pops this Xero guy. Had a blast for a couple maps. Now I'm really jonesing for the WarRoom. Brought back a lot of good memories.

Looked at server rental costs, and it's a bit out of my price range right now.

I also bought Left 4 Dead 2 for Vermin and myself last week, so you might find me there too once in a while.

I finally got a new job so my gaming time is limited as this is a 4pm-12am job. I don't get home to nearly 1am and fridays and saturdays I wont be home untill 2am.

Vanish let me borrow a couple of kills in the few rounds we played. Was really fun to play some of the maps that you don't see in a rotation too often (cs_office2007) wheeee...

Unable to get a hold of the person that has the battlechest in his colo cabinet but as soon as I do, I can see what needs to be fixed on it to put it up again.

Sounds like you need to get the machine and bring it over here for an overhaul, and of course massive installation and "testing".

I tend to play 11am-4pm and/or 8-11pm. I'm rusty on any map except dust2. Would be a blast to play with you guys more. I'd buy L4D2 if we all played (maybe you all do already). I know I won't have to put this stuff on hold until Feb (baby). Saw vanish and xero in game for a while last week.

Right now for me the only populated server with good ping (<85) in the afternoon is a deathmatch Dust2 server. D:
Everything else has a combination of just bots, zero players, ping in the 100's or a custom map I'd have to download.

My free days are Monday Tuesday and Thursday. Let me know when you guys are playing and I will join on up. I already reinstalled CS:S and I have L4D2 I tried the new map that was released a couple weeks ago. It's pretty good. I like how they integrated the old characters into the new game. I always liked the old characters better then the new ones.

I'm usually playing between 9:30pm CST and 12:00am CST on the Free Frag Network servers. I get like 15 ping there.

So Asus, are you Ron Burgundy in my Friends list? I joined you once on that Dust 2 Death match server. Was completely boring to me. I don't care for DM at all.

Yeah. DM is OK imo but that is the only place I seem to get good ping (on dsl 1.5 right now). Maybe I need specific IPs to connect to because my server list doesn't show many good ones even when I refresh.

Was a blast kickin' butt with both Asus and Xero last night. Too bad you guys weren't on at the same time.

BTW - Fun fact for the day: It took a whopping 7 rounds for someone to claim Asus was wallhacking and using an aimbot. ROFL! Ahh, the good ol' days of 'HAX0R! YOU F'ING HAX0R! I could never do that so you MUST be a HAX0R!' TeeHee.

There are a lot of talented players on there, most have awesome attitudes too. One in particular I like to play with is MAVERICK. The !nx- guys are pretty fun too, usually, and then there's the old 'I play like ass but I'm having FUN' group. Illusions fits squarely in this group.

I've been considering offering up my services as an admin for their CS servers. Most of them are in college and swamped right now. I don't really want to go trough their process, though, and I'd rather be administrating the WarRoom again.

Was fun playing with both of you again. Hard to find servers that do a good rotation of basic CS gameplay and yet are full of players too. All custom maps, gun game or DM servers.

I must have been alive because I don't remember any hacker comments. hehe
