No offense taken. I'm used to overzealatous people ranting and raving against the "enemy". I am never offended, I just learn who deserves less of my respect each time it happens. You two are so out of touch with reality that any time I would spend debating the issue would fall on deaf, uninterested ears. Sorry, my time is more valuable than that. I would suggest you go read real publications instead of Winblows and Google fan boi forums. I'll cover a few for you until you learn to research before opening your mouth.
I'm no more biased than you are, Opie. At least I use both OSes every day and can speak from educated experience instead of fan boi rants that takes less than two minutes with a search engine to debunk.

Seriously, 3 separate posts, each one fraught with wild inaccuracies? Pure troll bait, Opie.
The goes to you too Blim. The antennae problems exists on EVERY SINGLE SMART PHONE. Gizmodo blew it out of proportion on the iPhone to take revenge on Apple for cooperating with law enforcement over their purchase of stolen property and exposing Apple's IP to the public. Both serious crimes. If Android has caught up to iPhone, explain pages like this to me that popup daily:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-20023199-264.html Yup. Open is awesome.

Jailbreaking != any carrier. That's Unlocking, which is still illegal. Common misunderstanding, but now you know the truth. Also, the majority of profits isn't from sale of the hardware, and sure as hell isn't from carrier income (That all goes to AT&T, so even unlocking iPhones doesn't hurt Apple, it hurts AT&T), it comes from sales of apps, which are blowing away every single competitor combined by an order of magnitude. Don't believe me? Ask Nintendo how iOS has taken over their platform and dropped sales of the DSi in the toilet.
Service. Doesn't matter which carrier you have, it all depends on where you are and what towers are present. I have the sam reception with AT&T that I had with Verizon, and a LOT fewer dropped calls. Sprint in my area isn't even a consideration. You leave the interstate, you lose your signal.
The iPad was a joke? You mean the single best-selling tech gadget of all time? (Go read the numbers. You're talking completely out of your ass on this one) The device being adopted by more universities and Fortune 500 businesses than any other technology? DSV is currently working on iPhone and iPad apps for 45 insurance companies around the world. Yeah, that's a fail. LOL
The makes it better line is pure troll bait and completely subjective. There's your zealot argument I'm leaving alone. Sticking to debunking your statements.
Valve is the first company? Are you out of your mind? I can't even begin to... you really need to get out more. Valve was the only HOLDOUT, not the first to the party. Wow. Just... wow.
The mainstream argument is, again, trollbait that I won't touch save to point you to my statement about Macs chewing up marketshare. Marketshare that Microsoft is losing. And the fact that you "haven't had any personal experience with a Mac" is exactly the problem with your entire argument. Thanks for proving my point for me.

First to invent the smart phone? Umm, that was Nokia, followed by RIM and Palm. Just like with iPod, Apple didn't invent the device genre nor were they even an early player, but they perfected and dominated it. Every industry expert will tell you (go read, again) that the iPhone is what made owning a smartphone more than a business user idea. The next closest device to that honorific is the HTC EVO.
Your virus remarks are pure bullshit and you can go read about that too (getting the hint here? Read and know the truth before spewing ridiculous bullshit from your mouth) from industry experts. Mac is not "new". The first was in 1984. THe first Apple computer (which created the entire PC industry, mind you) was in 1977 (publicly available). Mac OS X was released in March of 2000 and is based on BSD which was old when Bill Gates first thought of stealing the Mac OS to make Windows. I have to ask, are you freaking high? Virii don't exist on Macs because it's damned hard to write a virus for an OS that has been locking itself down against such attacks for over THIRTY YEARS.
Also, if you knew anything at all about Virii writers, you'd know they live to be gods, to be the one who does what no one else has. Getting a virus on a Mac would accomplish that goal, and it hasn't happened in the 10 years Mac OS X has been available. This argument is 5 years old now and I can't believe anyone still believes it after being debunked so many times.
All that being said, You need to drop the Highlander angst. There doesn't have to be only one. Windows has it uses (Business almost entirely) as does Mac (almost everything else). Gaming is best served these days on consoles. Why do you think Microsoft puts 50% of it's girth behind the XBox? They could see the writing on the walls. Unfortunately what they didn't see coming was the proliferation of mobile gaming. It's kicking the gaming industry in the teeth, and so far only on iOS devices.
I welcome Android. Too bad it's so fragmented that it's a big bag of hurt for developers. I know, I am one and every time we start working on Android apps again, we ask ourselves if it's really worth it. So far, it isn't. The costs associated with testing and support ALONE make android apps much more costly to pursue.
I want other carriers to get the iPhone (2012 after the exclusivity contract expires). That will get a lot of whiny jackholes off my network providing more bandwidth for me, and at the same time put the final nail in the Android and RIM coffins. Lots of studies over the past year have shown that if the iPhone was available on more networks, it would be the phone of choice over any offering in the Android or Blackberry segments.
Unlike both of you, I make a living doing this. It's my job to know where the markets are headed and why. My livelihood depends on it. The facts, which are all very easy to get to online, don't support what you're saying AT ALL, and nothing you said changes my original statements. I choose not to use Windows at home or for my gaming. I'm sorry that upset you both so much, but I frankly couldn't care less. I never told you to switch to Macs, and I never will. Why is it so important to you that Windows sounds better? Usually this kind of argumentative prattle with no basis in facts or reality is the attempt of the desperate to cling to the belief that their choice is right, even in the face of it being untrue.
Whatever. I'm done in here. If you want to discuss this rationally and with facts, start a new topic and I'll consider it, but the fields of FUD in this topic tire me.
