I've been out of a desktop for awhile and my laptop died a little while ago so I made the leap and decided to build a new computer.  Hopefully the build goes smooth with no troubleshooting or having to send DOA parts back.

  • LIAN LI Lancool PC-K62 Black 0.8 mm SECC, Plastic + Mesh ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
  • CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-650HX 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power
  • Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost)
  • ZALMAN CNPS9900ALED 120mm 2 Ball Low-noise Blue LED CPU Cooler
  • MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
  • G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
  • MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB
  • Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s
  • LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit English

Once I get it up and running I'll load up Steam and see how well my Counterstrike skills have deteriorated.  I definitely won't have any troubles running any new games out on the market.

What's the point of wearing your favorite rocketship underpants if no one ever asks to see them?

What are you doing with the old one?

I stole the 2 hard drives out of the laptop and will use them as back up drives.  Probably will try to sell the shell and see if there is any demand a busted motherboard/video card laptop.  Memory, screen, processor, and disk drive all worked fine up to the end.

Awesome! Looks like that build is not loud either unless there was some fan motor noise.
Should be able to turn up everything with that GPU especially in source games.

Yeah the new Nvidia cards are surprisingly very quiet even when running things like Crysis 2 on full settings..... I was amazed.
